Gather in Garibaldi to learn about the ecology and oceanography of the Tillamook Bay. We will discuss the conditions that allow clams to inhabit this area as well as conditions that allow us to forage. Learn sustainable and proper harvest techniques, preparation and storage of cockle clams. Gather your own harvest to take home.
You will need your own clam rake, or metal garden rake, and a shellfish permit from Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, which can be purchased directly from their website.
Add on option ($20) to join us for a tour of the Oregon Seaweed farm after harvesting clams. They are located walking distance from each other.
